Opening Night
The Opening Night of Bent Art heralds the start of the Queens Birthday-long weekend of many LGBT activities in the Blue Mountains.
Opening Night always generates a sense of excitement, as members of the public and many artists view the Bent Art submissions for the first time, and enjoy wine, other beverages and finger food.
The major prize, Bent Art Prize, and the “Highly Commended” awards for painting, sculpture, photography and alternative media are announced on Opening Night.
We were delighted that celebrated artist, Euan MacLeod, judged the exhibition in 2009. A former Archibald and Sulman Prize winner, Euan’s work is represented in The National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, the New England Regional Art Musuem, Wollongong Art Gallery and in the New Parliament House Collection
No entry fee is charged, but a donation of a gold coin (or more) is always appreciated towards operating costs.
